The gap in health outcomes between Indigenous and non-indigenous populations remains. The Center for Indigenous Peoples' Health actively brings together Indigenous Peoples, researchers, and and health providers in order to reduce this gap.
The Center for Indigenous Peoples' Health aims to advance the theory, practice, and teaching of Indigenous Peoples' health by harnessing the research capacities universities and other stakeholders, and by co-creating new solutions for and with indigenous peoples.
By framing IP Health issues within the broader policies such as Universal Health Care, Sustainable Development Goals, and People-centered Development, we aim to advance the discourse for indigenous peoples' health as well actual health outcomes.
CIPH aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples in Asia by developing a network of university-based action-research hubs, forming research partnerships across disciplines and territories, and respectfully involving indigenous communities in projects undertaken.
CIPH supports the development of research and solution-generation capacity of Indigenous communities and will support partnerships and alliances between Indigenous Communities, researchers, and service providers at the local, regional, national and international levels.
At all times, CIPH is guided by ethical and moral standards and its core set of values:
CIPH is dedicated to supporting research and building research capacity among Indigenous Peoples. CIPH plans to support researchers located in universities, hospitals and other research centers across Asia.
CIPH also encourages capacity development by supporting and nurturing graduate students pursuing careers in Indigenous health research.
CIPH encourages partnerships with Indigenous Peoples.
